The Magic Drawer Workshop offers innovative and wholesome children's programming with a twist- all the sets, props, and puppets are made from recycled materials. Founded by Charles Parker as a model shop to build the sets and props for Toy Rescue With Skip & Molly, we quickly grew into a production facility where Toy Rescue and Kids Recycle TV are created and produced.  We have a commitment to the environment that is reflected in our program content and our production process.

Like a good story, we want every single thing we do at Magic Drawer Workshop to take us forward as we spread the green message to young children.  To this end, all merchandising, toys and packaging to be offered with our programs will conform to the highest environmental standards with strict attention to paint and materials safety as well as eco-friendly packaging, shipping and, the use of recycled/recyclable materials.

Magic Drawer Workshop’s first production, Toy Rescue with Skip & Molly introduces the basic concept of reuse to preschool children through something near and dear to their hearts, TOYS!  While the focus is on reuse of toys and objects, they also explore recycling concepts. The eight minute episodes are a combination of puppets and animation.  Pilot release is scheduled for August 2008 and the DVD will release by Dec 2008.

Synopsis of Toy Rescue With Skip & Molly

A family of colorful, furry monsters (Skip, Molly, Mom, & Pop), live in and run the recycling center which is housed in a converted railroad trestle.

Skip & Molly come across toys and other items in the recycle room that are broken but could be used again, if only they had a little help.  As luck would have it, they found all the discs from the vintage Toy Rescue Show in an old trunk. Now, whenever they need to fix a toy, they watch an episode where the Toy Rescue team encounter a similar dilemma.

Kids Recycle TV picks up where Toy Rescue leaves off and offers children ages 4-7, the opportunity to learn about recycling, ecology, alternative power sources, alternatives to food production and just about anything that shines the light on a less harmful way to interact with the planet. A combination of puppets and live footage allow children to see how all of this will touch their lives as they grow. 13 x 11 min. (completion scheduled 2009)
